You Can Lead a Horse to Water, but You Can't Make Him Vote
A Cowboy Mayor of Montreal
Montreal is a city of grit, heart, and wide-open possibility. It's time for leadership that isn't afraid to roll up its sleeves, look folks in the eye, and ride straight toward a better future.
Tony Laroche is bringing the cowboy spirit to City Hall — courage, fairness, and a good dose of straight talk. Because in this town, we don't need another career politician. We need a trailblazer.
Québecois Pride
Tony may have been born in the prairies, but Québec is the country he chose—and he’s not shy about showing his love for it. In this music video, Tony's band, the Berta Boys, Montreal's #1 Alberta-themed country band, performs their hit song 'Chui Né Dans Les Prairies (Mais Le Québec C'est Le Pays Que J'ai Choisi).' This light-hearted ode to Québec blends Tony's prairie roots with his deep appreciation for his adopted home.
Why a Cowboy Mayor?
Honesty & Integrity — Like any cowboy worth his boots, Tony shoots straight. No spin, no games, just clear vision for Montreal's future.
Hard Work & Grit — This city deserves a mayor who's willing to get in the saddle every morning and ride until the job is done.
True Talent — You can catch Tony DJing country music at Spaghetti Western every Friday night! Val Plante never did a DJ set.
From improving public safety to revitalizing our neighborhoods, Tony's vision is clear: a Montreal where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. It's time to saddle up for change and ride toward a brighter future with Tony Laroche as our cowboy mayor.
An Athletic Mayor for a Stronger Montreal
In this music video, Tony's band, the Berta Boys, pays tribute to one of Canada's most beloved sports: curling. Their song 'Hurry Hard' is a heartfelt and humorous ode to the game, celebrating its strategy, camaraderie, and the thrill of sweeping to victory.
The song also honors six-time Canadian curling champion Randy Ferbey, whose legendary career inspired generations of curlers. When the song was released, Ferbey himself retweeted it, giving the Berta Boys' tribute his personal seal of approval.
The Cowboy Platform
Dusty Trails
Tony vows to replace all bike paths with dusty trails and swap out Bixis for horses. Every street will feature mandatory hitching posts, so no cowboy—or cowgirl—is ever left without a spot to tie up.
Reinvigorate the arts
Under Val Plante’s Projet Montréal, we’ve lost too many of our cultural landmarks: L’Escalier, le Divan Orange, Les Katacombes, le Blue Dog, le Scaphandre, le Cagibi—the list is longer than a prairie horizon. Tony promises to reinvest bigly in the arts. With decades of experience as a musician, singer, and cowboy DJ, he’ll pour millions into opening honky-tonks and saloons across the city. Fresh watering holes for cowfolks of all stripes to sing their songs, stomp their boots, and keep the spirit of Montreal alive.
Turn Every Condo Into A Venue
Tony believes that every condo in Montreal has the potential to be a vibrant cultural venue. By working with developers and residents, he aims to transform underutilized spaces into lively hubs for music, art, and community gatherings. Imagine rooftop concerts, art exhibitions in lobbies, and open mic nights in shared spaces—Montreal will be a city where creativity knows no bounds.
Defund the SPVM
Tony promises a 66% budget cut to the SPVM, money that will be used to invest back into the community. The current police force will all be laid off. Instead, Tony will install his Two Cop platform: every year one (1) Sheriff and one (1) Deputy will be randomly elected from the Quebec star system. They will be given $12 million each (⅓ of the current SPVM budget), a stable full of fully trained police horses, and 911 will be directly linked to the Deputy’s cell phone. Imagine it – Sheriff Celine Dion? Deputy Mike Ward?
Lax on crime
Because of the lack of police oversight, Tony promises to stick to his campaign slogan: “Lax on crime.” That is not to say Montreal will become a safe haven for criminals. There will still be two cops, after all. But hey, if you don’t want to pay your rent, Tony doesn’t care.
Legalize marijuana
Pot smokers have been riding in fear too long. “Stony Tony Baloney” promises to legalize weed in Montreal on day one. No more hiding, no more shame—just good, clean prairie smoke.
Secede from Quebec to join Alberta
Tony was born in Alberta, Canada, and while he loves Montreal, he also misses his home province. Why not have the best of both? Tony promises to pass an edict for Montreal to separate from Quebec to join Alberta. That means a day one tax cut—no PST! Plus, cheaper gas. Probably.
The Montreal-Calgary Land Bridge
But Tony, you’re probably saying, won’t I have to drive through like 4 other provinces to get anywhere else in Alberta? No dumbass, Tony thought of everything! He will personally build a 3,018km long bridge connecting Dorval and Calgary City Centre. Saddle up, fill your tank, and ride.

A Radical Mayor for a New Montreal
In this high-octane music video, Tony's band, the Berta Boys, dives into the world of nü metal with their hit song 'Trucksickoman.' This adrenaline-pumping anthem explores the raw, unfiltered obsession with trucks—big trucks, loud trucks, and everything in between. With heavy guitar riffs, pounding drums, and Tony's intense vocals, the song captures the spirit of those who live and breathe the truck life.
Whether you're a lifelong truck enthusiast or just along for the ride, 'Trucksickoman' is guaranteed to get your engine revving and your heart racing. Buckle up and rock out with Tony!
